Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of MCP Firewall software and the mcpfirewall.app website. By installing or using MCP Firewall you agree to these terms.
1. The software
MCP Firewall is a local MCP governance firewall. The personal tier runs entirely on your machine. No data is collected, transmitted, or stored outside your device unless you opt into a team tier that requires a cloud gateway.
2. License
MCP Firewall is proprietary software. Your license to use it:
- Covers personal and commercial use
- Is non-exclusive and non-transferable
- Does not include the right to redistribute, sublicense, or sell the software
- Does not include access to source code
The personal tier is free forever. No additional fees, no expiry, no feature degradation.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use MCP Firewall to:
- Circumvent security controls on systems you do not own or are not authorised to access
- Intercept, alter, or replay MCP traffic in a way that deceives other users or systems
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the binary beyond what applicable law permits
4. No warranty
MCP Firewall is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MCP Firewall and its authors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
6. Privacy
The personal tier collects no data. The mcpfirewall.app website collects minimal server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) for operational purposes. No tracking pixels, no analytics SDKs, no third-party data sharing.
If you use a team tier, the gateway operator (you or your organisation) is responsible for handling any data that passes through the shared gateway.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the software after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be noted in the changelog.
